Enrollment Simplified for HMO and POS Members
We are pleased to let you know that the enrollment process of HMO and POS members is about to get easier.
We are introducing a new procedure of special importance for new members who have not yet selected a primary care physician (PCP), or provided an invalid PCP number at the time of enrollment.
Starting this month, new members will receive a temporary ID card upon enrollment. The temporary card will contain the phrase, “valid PCP required” where the PCP’s name and contact information would otherwise appear.
The ID card will be accompanied by a letter providing the member with important information about the card. The letter includes helpful tips on how to select a PCP. It encourages members to visit amerihealthexpress.com or to call Member Services for assistance in selecting a PCP. Once they designate a PCP, members receive a new ID card reflecting the updated PCP information.
We want to make our first impression on new members as positive as possible. This change to our enrollment process is intended to avoid the possibility of any confusion someone might encounter in the process of becoming a member. It also serves to encourage the member to seek care from the provider they choose.
For questions regarding this change to the enrollment process, please contact your AmeriHealth Broker Representative.
