CMM/Traditional members may obtain the flu vaccine from a physician or hospital in accordance with the age limits on coverage for routine immunization benefits. POS/PPO members may also obtain the flu vaccination through their self-referred/out-of-network benefit. The benefit is subject to applicable age limits, benefit maximums, copayments, deductibles, and coinsurance.

Commercial and Medicare managed care members were reminded about flu vaccinations through a variety of mailings (see sample mailer below) and automated calls coordinated through IBC’s Population Health & Wellness department.

These communications highlight recommendations from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, which consists of immunization experts selected by the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services. The recommendations include:

  • receiving a flu shot at any time from October through March;

  • two doses for children between ages six months and eight years who have not previously received the vaccination.

Remind your groups: Getting a flu shot is just one way eligible members can enter the No Pay Getaway for a trip for two to Maui. Go to www.ibx.com to learn more about the No Pay Getaway and to read the official rules. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited.
