Network update

AmeriHealth New Jersey signed new agreements with Garden State Urology, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Southern Ocean County Hospital, and Meridian Health System and has extended its agreement with Vista IPA.

 

New contracts

Garden State Urology

Effective April 1, AmeriHealth enters a new agreement with Garden State Urology, located in Morris County. Garden State Urology’s practice includes12 doctors, several of whom are featured on New Jersey Monthly’s list of the “Top Doctors in New Jersey.”

 

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital

Also effective April 1, AmeriHealth enters a new agreement with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, located in New Brunswick.

 

Southern Ocean County Hospital

AmeriHealth signed a new agreement with Southern Ocean County Hospital, effective March 1. The hospital is located in Manahawkin.

 

Meridian Health System

On February 1, AmeriHealth entered a new agreement with Meridian Health System, which comprises Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Riverview Medical Center, and Ocean Medical Center. Meridian Health System includes physicians and numerous partner companies that provide outpatient surgery, skilled nursing, home health, and durable medical equipment.

 

Vista IPA

Effective March 1, AmeriHealth renewed an agreement with Vista IPA. Vista IPA has 368 multi-specialty physicians located in several northern counties.

 

Provider and member programs

Significant Northern and Central network growth

AmeriHealth continues to grow its network in the Central and Northern counties of New Jersey. For 2008, AmeriHealth added more than 1,250 new providers in those counties, increasing its overall network size by 12 percent. AmeriHealth saw its greatest network growth in Hudson (24 percent), Sussex (27 percent), Monmouth (15 percent), Union (17 percent), and Passaic (18 percent) counties.
