AmeriHealth introduces new
small-group pharmacy benefit

Based on the success of our 50% coinsurance prescription benefit, we are pleased to announce an additional design that provides your small-group clients (2-50 employees) with a cost-effective solution to prescription drug costs.

This new benefit design provides members with access to lower-cost generic drugs subject to a $7 copay for a 30-day supply. Access is also available to formulary and non-formulary drugs subject to 50% coinsurance. This 50% coinsurance is capped at $125 per prescription fill.

The new $7 generic copay/50% coinsurance benefit offers your clients the premium relief they demand while alleviating employee concerns regarding out-of-pocket expenses.

 

This benefit will be available April 1, 2009, for PPO, POS and POS Plus plans. HMO options are coming soon.
